AB - For more than 100 years, psychologists have differentiated religiosity and spirituality at a
conceptual level. Religiousness is acceptance of traditional communal religious beliefs and
practices, while spiritualism is a quest for meaning and truth, a sense of connectedness with
the social and natural world, and contemplations of oneself. Recent psychometric empirical
evidence confirmed they are independent psychological dispositions. In this study we build up
on the empirical evidence on religiosity and spirituality as different constructs by
operationalizing them not just as beliefs but also as practices. We hypothesis religious beliefs
should predict only religious practices, and spiritual beliefs spiritual practices. To measure
beliefs, we have used 16-item subscales of questionnaire Lexical social attitudes - Serbia.
Summary scores for both subscales are highly reliable (αREL = .93, αSPIR = .88). To measure
practices we constructed a questionnaire for this study. On a binary scale (yes or no),
participants assessed if they had done at least once in the previous year each of the ten
traditional religious practices (e.g., prayed, confessed, read a holy book) and ten spiritual
practices (e.g., spent time in nature, made art, wrote a diary). Reliability of summary scores is
not satisfactory neither for the scale of religious practices (α = .63) nor spiritual (α = .58), so
one should take caution with interpreting the results. In an online survey, 197 participants
(70.0% women, Mage = 19.47, SDage = 5.43), filled questionnaires. Orthodox Christians
comprised 70.1%, followed by atheists 14.2%, and 11.2% agnostics. To test the hypothesis, we
derived a canonical correlation between beliefs on one side and practices on the other. The first
canonical correlation (R = .66, F(4,386) = 43.00, p < .001) describes religious people (b = .98)
who follow religious practices (r = .92) but decline spiritual (r = -.41). The second one (R =
.38, F(1,194) = 33.95, p < .001) describes spiritual people (r = .98) who in order to find meaning
and truth engage in spiritual practices (r = .91) and religious too some extent (r = .39). Results
are in line with conceptualizing religiosity and spirituality as different constructs, but results
eject orthogonality. Spiritualism manifests through spiritual beliefs and diverse practices that
provide sense of connectedness with the social and natural world and contemplations of
oneself, unlike rigid religiosity.

AB - Psychopathy is a set of several traits: egocentrism, manipulativeness, shallow affect and poor behaviour controls (high impulsivity and recklessness). Studies show moderate heritability of psychopathy. Transgenerational transmission of psychopathic traits can also be achieved indirectly, if parents create harsh environment for their children during their development. In order to examine the transmission of psychopathic traits through three consecutive generations, we constructed a path analysis model. The sample consisted of 222 students (Mage = 21.22, SDage = 3.75; 76% female), 420 students’ parents (Mage = 51.47, SDage = 5.89; 54% female) and 739 students’ grandparents (Mage = 71.04, SDage = 11.06; 45% female). TriPM self-assessment questionnaire measured psychopathic traits of students, while rating measures, the SPRS questionnaire measured psychopathic traits of parents and grandparents. Students and their parents have self-assessed the dysfunction of their family environment (on the Family Dysfunction scale) and poverty as they grew up. The model showed satisfactory data fit, especially RMSE and CFI values (χ² = 56.026, df = 51, p = .292; RMSEA = .015; CFI = .992). The psychopathic trait of recklessness in grandparents predicts the same trait in the next offspring generation, and the path is significant between the second and third generations. The same pattern is observed in the manipulative interpersonal style. The psychopathic trait of recklessness is the strongest predictor of an unfavorable environment for growing up, both poverty and dysfunction of the family environment: this is transmitted from the first to the second and from the second to the third generation. The direct effects of recklessness from the first generation to the third generation are also observed. The results provide new insights into how psychopathic traits of parents generate psychopathy, but also an unfavorable environment (in socio-economic and in terms of family functioning) from generation to generation, which provides additional understanding of the etiology of psychopathy.

AB - Revenge pornography refers to any kind of uploading or publishing private photos or videos of someone without their consent. At the beginning of 2021, the public in the Balkans region found out about private groups on social networks, counting around 30,000 participants, mostly men, involved in revenge pornography toward women. Laws in Serbia do not explicitly prohibit revenge pornography. In this study, we wanted to examine whether legal consequences for the perpetrator would affect the negative public opinion of revenge pornography acts. The sample consisted of 509 participants (70% women), with an average age of 36.5 (SD = 13.2), and slightly more liberal according to self-assessment on a broad social attitudes scale ranging from 1 - liberal to 7 - conservative (M = 3.1, SD = 1.5). Firstly, all participants read a vignette describing a bogus case of a woman whose pictures a man posted online. Further, half of them read the second part about the legal consequences the perpetrator has suffered for his act - imprisonment, while the other half of participants read that he was not punished due to revenge pornography not being officially prohibited in our country. All participants provided judgment of the act itself on a 7-point scale ranging from 1 - very bad to 7 - very good, as well as their opinion on who is to blame for this act, also on a 7-point scale: 1 - the woman, 4 - both equally, 7 - the man. These judgements were provided twice, once after reading the first part of the vignette and after reading the second part. We expected that change in judgments would be led by outcome bias. Actually, in both of the judgment measurements, 90% of participants marked the act of the man as very bad. Due to the ceiling effect, we did not proceed with the planned analysis of change. The distribution of answers on the responsibility scale was trimodal (on word anchors) and negatively asymmetric because 52% of participants said that the man should take responsibility. We did not test if the change in victim-blaming is moderated by gender because of the insufficient number of men per experimental group. Whatsoever, a Wilcoxson signed-rank test (W = 50.50, p = .007) showed that all participants who read about the legal consequences blamed the perpetrator slightly more afterwards, which did not happen in the other group (W = 47.00, p = .054). Legal consequences can reduce victim-blaming and consequently form a social norm by which revenge pornography toward women is perceived as deviant behaviour.

AB - Revenge pornography refers to any kind of uploading or publishing private photos or videos of someone without their consent. The public can often blame female victims of revenge pornography for engaging in the risky behaviour of taking nude pictures or videos in the first place. Certain individual and socio-demographic characteristics of the public can lead to victim-blaming. We wanted to see if characteristics relevant in the context of blaming rape victims for their victimisation, such as ambivalent sexism, moral foundations, conservatism, age and gender, contribute to blaming victims of revenge pornography. Convenient sample consisted of N = 364 participants (73.3% women), with an average age of 38.07 (SD = 13.74), and slightly more socio-liberal orientation, according to self-ssessment (a broad social attitudes 7-point scale ranging from 1-liberal to 7-conservative (M = 2.97, SD = 1.49)). In an online survey, participants were presented with a vignette describing a bogus case of a woman whose pictures a man posted on the internet. The participant's task was to assess who should take responsibility for this event on a 7-point scale, ranging from 1, meaning the woman, through 4, meaning both the woman and the man equally, to 7, meaning the man. The distribution of answers was trimodal (on word anchors) and negatively asymmetric because 52.2% of participants said that the man should take responsibility. After attributing responsibility, participants filled out the Ambivalent sexism inventory with 22 items (α = .91) and the Moral foundations questionnaire with 30 items (all five subscales, α = .66-.81). Regression model with sociodemographics, together with ambivalent sexism and moral progressivity, explained 19.8% of the variance in victim-blaming (F(5, 354) = 17.22, p < .001). Ambivalent sexism (β = -0.27, p < .001) contributed the most, followed by moral progressivity (β = 0.17, p = .01), while gender, age, and conservatism were not significant predictors. Content analysis of ambivalent sexist attitudes and less progressive moral foundations can help us create a substitute for the victim-blaming narrative around victims of revenge pornography which would still fit the mindset of current victim-blamers (e. g. “women take and share their private photos or videos to special men in their life to please them”). Besides the practical application, the study's findings contribute to the ongoing debate over the theoretical soundness of Moral foundations theory because holding less progressive moral foundations, which are exclusively proposed by this theory, leads to an apology for violence.

Besides the practical application, the study's findings contribute to the ongoing debate over the theoretical soundness of Moral foundations theory because holding less progressive moral foundations, which are exclusively proposed by this theory, leads to an apology for violence.",

AB - Deep-rooted political turbulence, along with the present hybrid regime, have resulted in an undesirable social, economic and political milieu in Serbia. Such an atmosphere is a fertile ground for a grey economy, corruption, nepotism and restrictions to media freedoms. These ‘unconventional’ means of social functioning, have caused a decline in trust towards state institutions and proportionally, increase of citizen participation in non-institutional models of engagement.

The aim of this paper is to analyse one such model of non-institutional engagement: the local activist group Za naš Kej, operating in the area Savski blokovi (Sava apartment blocks) in New Belgrade. The authors analysed local residents’ perception of the activist group Za naš Kej in comparison to the group’s narratives and actions. By using a grounded theory approach authors explained the role of groups such as Za Naš Kej in the development of participatory and deliberative democracy within the local community.

Our data indicates that Za naš kej, despite its local character, does not have a strong foothold in the community, and thus receives only passive support. Citizens perceive Za naš kej as mediator between local institutions and residents of the Sava apartment blocks. Despite the failure to mobilise a wider group of citizens for their cause, this activist group continues to be a relevant (political) actor within the local community.
AB - Duboko ukorenjene političke turbulencije, zajedno sa sadašnjim hibridnim režimom, dovele su do nepoželjnog društvenog, ekonomskog i političkog miljea u Srbiji. Takva atmosfera je plodno tlo za sivu ekonomiju, korupciju, nepotizam i ograničavanje medijskih sloboda. Ovi „nekonvencionalni“ načini društvenog funkcionisanja, izazvali su smanjivanje poverenja u državne institucije i srazmerno tome, porast učešć a građana u vaninstitucionalnim modelima angažovanja.

AB - Resorting to complementary/alternative medical (CAM) therapies can lead to bad health outcomes or interfere with officially recommended therapies. CAM use is, nevertheless, widespread and growing. This could be partially due to the perception of the CAM industry as powerless and non-profit oriented, in contrast to the pharmaceutical industry (“Big Pharma”). In reality, both industries are highly profitable and powerful; to highlight this similarity, science communicators coined the term “Big Suppla”. Drawing from a sample of 242 participants upon all exclusions, we experimentally tested whether varying these attributes in presenting the industries impacts consumers’ evaluation of the two categories of products (herbs and supplements) and their willingness to try and recommend them. We also tested whether the effect is moderated by conspiratorial thinking, and whether it is due to a change in trust. All hypotheses were pre-registered. As expected, participants who read the Big Suppla vignette decreased the endorsement of both supplements and herbs, whilst, against our hypotheses, there were no significant changes in endorsement in the contrasting “Baby Suppla” group. Conspiratorial thinking was related to more endorsement of CAM, but it did not moderate the experimental effects. We also did not observe the expected mediation by trust. Our most robust results corroborate the idea that challenging the myth of benevolence of the CAM industry makes people more critical in evaluating its products or considering their usage. They support the intuitions of science communicators who coined the term Big Suppla, and can help in tailoring public health messages.

AB - The vast majority of studies investigating personality structure is done using adult samples. If
personality is assessed in children, parental ratings are preferably used method, while self reports are seldom used. Here we use self-report measures to study the developmental
stability of the seven-factor personality structure defined by the HEXACO model and
Disintegration trait. We focus on middle childhood children, young teens, and teenagers.
Sample consisted of four groups: 1) age 10-11 (N=164, 49.4% female), 2) age 12-13 (N=195,
48.9% female), 3) age 14-16 (N=319, 59.2% female), 4) age 17-18 (N=201, 49.5% female).
Data were collected in several elementary and high schools in Serbia and Montenegro.
Personality traits were assessed using 60 items HEXACO, and 20 items DELTA
questionnaires. The stability of the seven-factor personality structure was tested using
orthogonal procrustes rotations, and the analysis was done on facets of all seven personality
traits. Congruence coefficients and factor loadings were calculated for all facets for all six
pairwise comparisons. Overall, the average congruence of factors ranged between .69
(Emotionality) and .96 (Disintegration). The average congruence of facets ranged between
.41 (Sincerity) and .95 (Sentimentality), with the majority of facets having average
congruence above .85. Average factor loadings for Disintegration range between .55 (Depression) and .85 (Perceptual Distortions), for Honesty between .20 (Sincerity) and .39
(Greed avoidance), for Emotionality between .19 (Anxiety) and .53 (Sentimentality), for
Extraversion between .34 (Sociability), and .47 (Social self-esteem and Liveliness), for
Agreeableness .34 (Patience), and .54 (Flexibility), for Conscientiousness .33 (Organization)
and .53 (Diligence), and for Openness .53 (Creativity) and .67 (Inquisitiveness). As expected,
personality structure is least stable in the first age group but stabilizes in groups 3 and 4. We
discuss, in detail, stability and content of personality factors on different age groups, and
practical implications on assessment these results have.

abstract = "The vast majority of studies investigating personality structure is done using adult samples. If
personality is assessed in children, parental ratings are preferably used method, while self reports are seldom used. Here we use self-report measures to study the developmental
stability of the seven-factor personality structure defined by the HEXACO model and
Disintegration trait. We focus on middle childhood children, young teens, and teenagers.

AB - In the present work we describe the further development of the Short Psychopathy Rating Scale (SPRS), a 9 item inventory for measuring three psychopathy traits: Deceitfulness, Emotional coldness and Recklessness. We administered this inventory on a sample of 210 students (76% females, Mage=21.21; SD=2.10) who rated their parents on psychopathic traits. Analyses were conducted on 373 participants (54% females, Mage=51.47; SD=5.91). We calculated Cronbach's α coefficient as a reliability estimate, tested the latent structure of the construct using Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) and explored the validity of the SPRS scales by examining their relations with Triarchic Psychopathy Measure. Psychopathy scales showed acceptable reliabilities, having in mind that all scales consisted of 3 items (αs in range from .60 to .68). CFA showed good fit for the SPRS model:
χ²(24)=85.57; p<.01; NFI=.88; CFI=.91; RMSEA=.078. Predictable sex differences were found - males had significantly higher scores on all three psychopathy traits. Finally, the validity of the SPRS scales was determined by establishing relations with psychopathy traits of Triarchic Psychopathy Measure: Meanness, Boldness and Disinhibition. Deceitfulness showed unique relations with Boldness, Emotional coldness with Meanness, and Recklessness with Disinhibition, as expected. In sum, SPRS measures showed acceptable reliabilities, adequate factor structure and excellent convergent and divergent validity. However, there is still room for improvement, especially in elevating scale reliabilities.
