dc.description.abstractIn this paper, the results and the difficulties of the ontological aesthetics are investigated as they are exemplified in the case of Yugoslav Marxism. The ontological comprehension of art does not give uniform results, sometimes even in the case of the same thinker: it can be used to justify the autonomy of art, as well as to show its heteronomy. Some ontologically inclined aesthetician can have favourable attitude towards modern art while the other could be against it. Every ontological aesthetics should by itself be investigated with regard to what it justifies, to what it denies, to what it is silent about.eng
