Filoterapija kao drustvena delatnost

AB - The paper focuses on emotional subjectivity (a sense of own identity based on an emotional reception of values), on the one hand, and the constitution of an organic community (one characterized by immediacy, as oppose to a formal community, which is permeated with by institutional relations that mediate the inter-subjective relationships between the community's members.
i pomagačkih profesija, poput psihoterapije. Društvena uloga različitih psihoterapeutskih pravaca, poput psihoanalize, dobro je poznata, dok društveno aktivistički aspekti
filozofske prakse i posebno filozofskog savetovanja ostaju velikim delom nerazlučeni

Learning the language of social environment: the case of Hungarian in Vojvodina (Serbia)

AB - This article explores Yugoslav education policy in Vojvodina (Serbia), one of the most multilingual regions of the country, which was implemented in the period between the 1960s and 1980s through the school subject the ‘Language of social environment’ (LSE). Based on archival and field research, this case study is devoted to the school subject Hungarian as LSE intended for students whose L1 was Serbo-Croatian. The article addresses the discourses of policy makers who advocated for the introduction of LSE and how former students and teachers remember the school subject, which was abolished in the 1990s. The analysis shows that LSE was based on the values of societal multilingualism for all members of society and in line with a ‘language-as-resource’ orientation to language planning and policy, both as an etic concept at top-down policy level and as an emic concept at local level where nostalgic memories and bottom-up initiatives for its reintroduction emerged.

Uvid u neke metodološke dileme i sporenja u istraživanju intelektualne istorije

AB - Intelektualna istorija predstavlja vrlo širok i neod ređen pojam, praćen sporenjima i nesaglasnošću među istoričarima koju pokušavaju da ga preciznije definišu.
AB - The article attempts to present some methodological approaches, controversies, and
dilemmas in the research of intellectual history. First, the paper shows a dispute over the
subject matter and the definition of the discipline from the perspective of influential scholars
in the field. The major part of the study aims to show several methodological approaches:
the traditional method of the “history of ideas” in the USA, the linguistic contextualism of
the “Cambridge school”, the relationship between postmodernism and intellectual history, as
well as social intellectual history. Similarities and differences between selected approaches
are discussed considering their contributions and shortcomings. The final part of the article
examines contemporary trends within the discipline, offering one of the potential solutions
for earlier crises and methodological difficulties.

AB - The proliferation of fake news and misinformation in the digital era poses a significant challenge to news organizations and content creators. In this paper, we intro-duce the iTrust News Certificate, the architecture of an online blockchain-based solution designed to combat fake news, enhance news verification, and maintain reputation within the media ecosystem. Unlike previous attempts, iTrust News Certificate focuses on us-er-friendly features while ensuring transparency and reliability. By leveraging blockchain technology, iTrust News Certificate establishes a decentralized and immutable ledger for storing news-related metadata. This ledger ensures the integrity and traceability of news articles, making it extremely difficult for malicious actors to tamper with or propagate false information.

abstract = "The proliferation of fake news and misinformation in the digital era poses a significant challenge to news organizations and content creators. This ledger ensures the integrity and traceability of news articles, making it extremely difficult for malicious actors to tamper with or propagate false information.",

Recognition as a Counterhegemonic Strategy

AB - Building on the analyses of cultural hegemony in the works of Nancy Fraser and Wendy Brown, I argue in the paper that the historic bloc (order of cultural hegemony) of post-Fordist capitalism is characterized by a particular dynamic between several ‘axes’ of hegemony that gives rise to the ‘paradox of engagement/disengagement’. The ‘progressive-expertocratic’ axis of hegemony creates a subject-position of the ‘engaged self’, a figure embodying a certain promise of political agency that is simultaneously obstructed by other, depoliticizing axes of hegemony. This dynamic is conducive to the rise of contemporary right-wing authoritarianism, which purports to fulfill this promise of political agency through a series of displacements – the counterhegemonic left, I argue, has so far not formulated an effective alternative to this strategy. In the second part, I explore the potential of Axel Honneth’s theory of recognition, in particular his concept of ‘interpersonal respect’, for grounding a left strategy of connecting (mutually articulating) the hegemonic figure of the ‘engaged self’ with a progressive politics of social transformation. To that end, I elaborate Honneth’s perspective by means of an argument about the role of trust in the context of societal crises that Igor Cvejić, Srđan Prodanović and I have recently formulated.

Trust and ‘Being Moved’ as Forms of Engagement in Situations of Uncertainty

AB - The main aim of this paper is to put emphasis on the role of trust and the emotion of being moved in a situation of crisis. I do not intend to address the general role, or all roles, these emotions might have in a crisis situation. My focus is rather on the role of these emotions in we-formation, presupposing that mutual engagement between the actors is the crucial constituent through which first-person singular shifts to first-person plural. I rely on Bennet Helm’s argument on how trust can function as an invitation to delineate communal norms in the new circumstances of uncertainty. Accordingly, by being trusted by other(s), the addressee is entitled to the expected responsibility for a situation: (1) the addressee is entitled as a member of a group (of us who are responsible in the situation); (2) the addressee is exposed to pressure to respond to a situation with responsibility. In the second part, I adopt Cova’s and Deonna’s argument about the function of the emotion of being moved. I suggest that in such a situation “being moved” expresses the readiness to reorganize one’s hierarchy of values in the light of new circumstances of mutual dependency. Taken together, trust and being moved portray the outline of mutual engagement between the actors in a crisis situation which aims to establish new communal norms and values.

AB - In this paper, I will investigate the complex relationship between intuition, trustworthiness, and trust. I will first examine some of the more prevalent accounts of trust which either (over)emphasize the cognitive aspect of generating trustworthiness, or indeed acknowledge the importance of affects and emotions, but only as part of a neatly organized dual structure − which is in essence complementary with the cognitive understanding of how we start trusting each other. I will argue that intuitions provide a more detailed insight into trustworthiness because they are simultaneously cognitive and affective in nature. I will also consider how inferential and holistic intuitions might influence our understanding of trustworthiness, especially in times of crisis.

AB - While the notions of credit, debt and money are today almost exclusively associated with economic discourse, their semantic fields prove to be significantly wider and more complex. This article seeks to restore the repressed meanings of these three notions. Its aim consists of a deconstruction of the dominant economic narratives on credit, debt, money and trust, that would show that these concepts should be primarily considered as social, rather than solely economic institutions. Therefore, in the introduction we will look at the etymology of the word credit and disclose its semantic proximity with magic as a social practice. Furthermore, the first section will examine the intrinsic relation between debt and credit, departing from Marcel Hénaff’s three types of symbolic debt and exposing how these shape the financial credit in neoliberal capitalism and install the creditor-debtor relation (such as Maurizio Lazzarato describes it) as predominant at all levels of society. The second section shows how relations of credit and debt crystallize in the notion of money: firstly by exposing some major historical and anthropological insights about money; moreover, by considering money from an onto-axiological point of view as the knot in which all social relations of trust culminate; and finally, by relating the three different types of trust in money, proposed by French heterodox economists Michel Aglietta and André Orléan, to the three forms of symbolic debt, thus showing how credit, debt and money are fundamentally anchored in social relations.

AB - There are many indications that weather conditions influence human life and well-being. Some of these indicators, such as the influence of weather on human health, have been explored in detail. On the other hand, the influence of daily fluctuations of different meteorological variables on the human psychological state still remains unknown. We apply combined methods from statistics, psychology, machine learning, and complex networks theory to explore the influence of weather parameters on different psychological categories of Twitter users in ten different countries. Our results show that the temperature, pressure, and humidity are highly correlated with Twitter users’ activity, sense, and affect. Our comparative analysis for different countries shows that the strongest correlation was found for the USA, Italy, and Portugal, indicating differences between countries. However, our results show that the level of activity of Twitter users, described as Post Count, is strongly connected to changes in temperature and humidity in all countries. We use complex networks theory to explore these connections and differences between countries further. Our findings suggest that weather parameters can be used to predict Twitter users’ activity and psychological manifestations, which can be beneficial to marketing and advertising.

i vlažnosti u svim zemljama.

AB - Metaverse technology is emerging as a global trend, offering virtual activities with real-world experiences. This paper presents a systematic review of research trends from 2012–2022 to determine the prevalence and current conditions of metaverse technology in education. The PRISMA framework (selected reporting items for systematic review and meta-analysis) guided this systematic review. 42 studies were selected from the Scopus database, with more than 70 studies or references from Google Scholar kept as supporting data after quality assessment. The results indicate that research interest in metaverse technology has significantly increased in the last ten years, peaking in 2022. Augmentation and simulation are the most prominent uses of metaverse technology in the learning process. C. Moro (2017) is the most cited author on this topic, with 313 citations, followed by P. Wang (2022) with 264 citations and P. Pelargos (2022) with 163 citations. AR and VR are the most widely used types of metaverse technology. Hopefully, this review will be useful for researchers, educators, and future research on the metaverse and education.

AB - In this paper, I deal with the conceptual relationship between nature and
culture in Lamarckism, Darwinism, sociobiology, neo-Darwinism, and developmental
systems theory. The aim of the paper is to show how sociobiology deviates from what is
postulated about this relationship in neo-Darwinism. Namely, thanks to August Weismann’s
theory of hard inheritance and Alfred Kroeber’s cultural determinism, neo-Darwinism,
unlike the reductionism of sociobiology, starts from a strong conceptual separation
of nature and culture in which nature and culture are two separate causal factors
equally important for explaining human behavior and human sociability. Finally, I deal
with Tim Ingold’s critique of this sharp conceptual separation, which comes from the
position of developmental systems theorists in evolutionary biology.

Divine Genius, Subversive Hero, or Creative Entrepreneur? Exploring Various Facets of the Artist as a Mythical Figure

AB - People have always related art to the creation and transmission of myths. While myth as a theme in art has been thoroughly addressed, research about the “mythic” nature of the artist figure is far less common. The 20th and 21st centuries brought challenges to the status of art and artists in society, historically situated archetypes and stereotypes that we associate with the figure of the “artist” still survive to this day (e.g. “genius”, “subversive artists”, “child prodigy”, “eccentric”, etc.). In this paper, we set out to analyze various tropes used persistently to describe artists and explore how relevant the resulting myths are in (self) perceptions of Serbian contemporary artists. Our multidisciplinary approach to this topic combines a historicaltheoretical and empirical perspective. Through historical research of the relevant literature, we described and mapped the key tropes of the (mythical) artist figure as it developed in Western culture. In the theoretical analysis we address the inseparability of digital culture with everyday life of people today, which we call postdigital. We explore how the transition into contemporaneity affects the determination of the “artistfigure”, i.e., how it impacts the contemporary process of mythmaking. Following our historicaltheoretical analysis, we conducted five indepth interviews with contemporary Serbian artists to understand better how relevant the artist myth tropes are for their selfperception.

AB - The paper illuminates how civil society organisations in Serbia, in the aftermath of the political changes initiated on 5 October 2000, played the essential role in articulating corruption as a vital public issue, raising awareness of the public, and putting pressure on the then governments to include this issue in the political agenda. Our analysis focuses on two planes of civil society organisations activities: 1) research efforts aimed at properly understanding the phenomenology of corruption as the first step towards sound conceptualisation of various anti-corruption measures, and 2) educational initiatives aimed at transferring knowledge and good practice in anti-corruption methodology and policies from post-industrial societies and other post-communist countries. The timeframe of our analysis embraces the period from 5 October 2000 to December 2005, which we see as the initial phase of engaging civil society organisations in anti-corruption policy in Serbia, before the National Anti-Corruption Strategy was adopted. After the changes in October 2000, civil society organizations in Serbia have acted as a significant factor in raising public awareness of corruption as well as in building anti-corruption institutional and normative infrastructure. From campaigns that targeted all stakeholders (citizens, media, business sector, decision makers) aiming at changing their priorities and interests, to participating in the set-up of public policies in the field of rule of law and monitoring the implementation of anti-corruption laws and strategic commitment, civil society organisations that operated within very wide range of activities, successfully influenced both the institutions and the general public. Despite wide range of activities and modest resources, civil society organisations had an impact on actions of the government, public institutions, and the media. The fight against corruption became one of the central issues in the then Serbia’s political debate. Yet the anti-corruption achievements of Serbian civil society organisations in the period 2000–2005, were limited due to a chronic deficit of political, professional, and moral responsibility of all social actors, resulting in “systemic error” of public policies strategic design aimed at combating corruption – the lack of a participatory political culture. The lack of a participatory political culture in citizen action has limited efficiency in achieving development policy goals, and in implementation and monitoring of public policies relevant to curbing corruption. Belief has been established, that citizens do not ask questions and therefore do not have the power to exercise policy influence nor to shape the environment in which they live. As the concept of political community is a special construct based on democracy and human rights, non-inclusiveness as previously outlined here destructively affected society by making deeper asymmetries of all kinds due to disintegrating influence that prevents the final community constitution through democratic institutions.

A Crisis of Political Solidarity in the European Union and the Western Balkans. Reactive vs. Institutional Solidarity

AB - While the narratives of democratization and Europeanization had significant
mobilizing potential in the Western Balkans during the 1990s and early 2000s, their
relevance has been largely undermined by recent political developments in the region
and growing crises of solidarity within the EU. This article offers a novel perspective
for understanding the prospects of an EU future for the Western Balkans, through a
discussion of the ideas and practices of political solidarity. It introduces the need to
differentiate between reactive and institutional solidarity, and argues that institutional
solidarity has a unique potential to mobilize the attention and commitment of citizens
by offering a projection of a durable and sustainable political community organized
around the principles of social justice and equality. Operationalizing this has become a
necessary precondition not only for the “European future” of the Western Balkans but
also for the future of the European project itself.

AB - This paper aims at hypothesizing that the issue of technology could never be considered separate from the creative act. We develop the hypothesis starting from Heidegger’s
opposition of technology and the poietic, which we interpret through the dialectic between the
performative and constative function of the hand. To overcome the Heideggerian problem of
Enframing, we introduce the question of singularity inherent in every poietic activity which,
however, does not result in conceiving technology as an instrument. When defining the nature
of such poietic singularization we employ Spinoza’s concept of an inadequate idea – an idea
that involves its cause but does not explain it. The inherent negativity of the inadequate idea
generates the sphere in which the new appears as radical otherness. But in order to produce the
new, that is, to perform it, technology has to be conceptualized and thus made an instrument
– a singular instrument of the creative act.
