AB - Our presentation will consist of two parts. The first part will focus on the ambivalences of Rousseau's republican freedom and critique the interpretation of Rousseau offered by Isaiah Berlin. Berlin's interpretation ignores essential aspects, including the fact that the social contract itself, as the preservation of citizens, does not simply manifest positive freedom. Similarly, the more obviously republican thought, that freedom is not being subjected to the arbitrary will of other agents, embodies a complex concept of freedom. The complexity of the Rousseauian republican concept of freedom, with its multiplex combination of positive and negative aspects, is revealed when we take into consideration the various layers of Rousseau's
quadrotomy of freedom (natural freedom, civil freedom, democratic freedom, moral freedom), without resorting to reductionist interpretative strategies. Rousseau will also be analyzed as an advocate of freedom as non-domination and in the role of watching over and critiquing the government.
Based on this analysis and in light of the discussion about the positive and negative aspects of Rousseau’s conception of republican freedom, the second part will examine Hegel's critique of Rousseau. It will be demonstrated that while Hegel does indeed resolve some of the paradoxes of republican freedom, which he implicitly identified through his criticism of Rousseau, he introduces new ones within his political philosophy. At the same time, it will be shown that when the negative aspect of Rousseau's conception of republican freedom is taken into account some of Hegel's criticisms directed at Rousseau’s ‘general will’ have merit and cannot be reduced to a mere misreading as is often done.

AB - Intelektualna istorija predstavlja vrlo širok i neod ređen pojam, praćen sporenjima i nesaglasnošću među istoričarima koju pokušavaju da ga preciznije definišu.
AB - The article attempts to present some methodological approaches, controversies, and
dilemmas in the research of intellectual history. First, the paper shows a dispute over the
subject matter and the definition of the discipline from the perspective of influential scholars
in the field. The major part of the study aims to show several methodological approaches:
the traditional method of the “history of ideas” in the USA, the linguistic contextualism of
the “Cambridge school”, the relationship between postmodernism and intellectual history, as
well as social intellectual history. Similarities and differences between selected approaches
are discussed considering their contributions and shortcomings. The final part of the article
examines contemporary trends within the discipline, offering one of the potential solutions
for earlier crises and methodological difficulties.

AB - This research is aimed to critically analyse the Yugoslav-Soviet disputes, with a specific focus on the ideological question of Party reform as a central issue in their
differing interpretations. The methodology employed involves a comparative examination of the principles of Yugoslav “democratic socialism” and Soviet “real socialism” during the period of intense labour movement debates and the peak of Yugoslavia’s internal crisis, which led to the replacement of two reformist leaderships
in 1971/1972. The study highlights the importance of the clashes between the Yugoslav aspiration for autonomous development and the Soviet hegemonic model,
with the international context playing a crucial role in intensifying the debates. The
findings underscore the significance of ideology in shaping political events and the
trajectory of social development in both countries. Ultimately, this research provides a deeper understanding of the final outcomes of the Yugoslav-Soviet disputes
and sheds light on the evolution of the Yugoslav socialist system’s attempt to present itself as a distinct “progressive” (non-Soviet) development model. The analysis
demonstrates how the dynamics of ideological differences influenced the course of
socialist development, reflecting the complexities of post-Stalinist transitions and
the implications of these disputes for broader debates about socialist modernization on the left.

Between the Primitive and Plastic: Deleuzian Ontology of Architectural Design

AB - The discursive difference between the ideal and material architectural object could almost be completely reduced to the issue of translation of the former into the latter. Within such a perspective, it becomes difficult to think of architectural design beyond the order of precedence, which defines the Form’s ontological autonomy from its material expression. In my presentation, I will try to reinterpret this relationship using Deleuze’s theory of fold. Regarding Leibniz’s distinction between the primitive and (derivative) plastic forces, through which Deleuze interprets the difference between soul and matter as the difference between the one and many, the concept of fold offers the possibility of a “twofold” reading of design methodology. Such duality would refer to overcoming the paradigm of “materialization” of form, that is, the always one-way translation process, understood as the multiplication of the one. In other words, Leibnizian hylomorphism is reflected in the concept of the fold on the level of its position between the corresponding processes of unification and multiplication. Using the concept of harmony, which is the unity of the multiple, Deleuze defines this kind of correspondence as a necessary twofoldness, i.e. “the double operation of transcendental actualization and realization” – the former as intrinsic and the second as extrinsic folding. Nevertheless, their mutual order remains an order of precedence: the intrinsic folding is necessarily primitive, or primary since its only reference is the self. In the methodology of architectural design, however, this order becomes impossible with the question of form being posed with respect to the problem of morphogenesis. Between the actual and the real, the morphogenetic process itself then turns into an infinite correspondence, whereby the primitive quality of form would have to identify with its plasticity.

abstract = "The discursive difference between the ideal and material architectural object could almost be completely reduced to the issue of translation of the former into the latter. Between the actual and the real, the morphogenetic process itself then turns into an infinite correspondence, whereby the primitive quality of form would have to identify with its plasticity.",

AB - Greg Lynn’s theorization of the animate form and animate design in architecture referred to the consideration of structural changes in the creation of architectural form caused by the advent of computer-aided design. His concept of animate form represented a departure from the idea of the autonomy of form created in abstract, atemporal space. In contrast, Lynn recognizes in the new software the opportunity to subordinate the (virtual) architectural form to the dynamic principles of motion and force. Similar to Deleuze’s idea that “[f]orce is presence and not action,” Lynn defines force as virtual motion and identifies it in the logic of 3D software’s vector curvilinearity, which indexically signifies the continual change in the form’s geometry. However, the “virtual force,” representing a simple geometric law, is also an analogue of the material force that actualizes the form by translating it into a technical structure. This duality, which echoes Leibniz’s distinction between the primitive and derivative forces, allows the category of force to overcome the paradigm of realization of the (autonomous) form. In this presentation, this double character of force will be used to interpret the point of “/” as that in which one can encounter simultaneity and absolute parallelism of the ideal and real aspects of architectural design.

AB - There are considerations within the philosophy of technology that question the ontological division into “technical” and “non-technical” entities and units. Rather, technology is understood as a reflexive term that allows for the question of technology to be reformlated
such that something might be thematized as technology or not. The question that arises according to this model is the reflexive concept of architecture, inquiring into the “ontology” of architecture. What does this mean, if architecture is not fundamentally based
on a division of architectural and non-architectural objects?
Further, there is a question of relations of so-called New Technologies and architecture, given that these new technologies (such as “Internet of Things”, pervasive computing, augmented reality, AI, etc.) carry with them yet another dimension that could be identified as “trace erasure” or an increasing disappearance of the experience of difference in using technology. In the case of architecture, there is a question of use and integration of such
technologies (e.g., “Smart Houses”). On the other hand, if these new technologies become a model for design and development, it would imply a set of considerations regarding the potential reformulation of architecture as a whole.

AB - The lecture deals with the theories of the modern state and politics that emerged in the middle of the twentieth century and can be seen as a reaction to the rise of political totalitarianism of that time. On the one hand, it points to the theses of Horkheimer and Adorno about the threat to political and social modernity caused by the mixing of Enlightenment principles with mythical thinking. In this context, Cassirer's theory is also of interest, in which the relationship between the mythical symbolic figure and modern political thought is reflected on the level of a philosophy of culture. But it also examines another way of thinking about political modernity, which starts from the continuities between the pre-modern and the modern and identifies the critically highlighted part of the pre-modern
myth as part of a historical, all-encompassing life that also includes the Enlightenment and modern political tendencies.

AB - Resilience is one of the most traditional attributes to mental health that are used both for diagnosis and for the evaluation of success of psychotherapy. In addition, resilience is a traditional measure of personal maturity, where the person’s ability to withstand stress, frustration or less are seen as critical markers of one’s personal maturity. However, in psychotherapy resilience is often seen in a narrow context, without paying sufficient attention to the social and group dynamics that both give rise to resilience and influence it. This paper is about resilience as a valuable concept in steering and controlling the effectiveness of philosophical consultancy on various levels, including individual, group and broader social and policy issues with which philosophical consultancy also ought to concern itself.

AB - Normalcy is a controversial concept in modern psychotherapy, which suffers from the postmodernist woes of seeking to question the very normative foundations of what is personal and collective wellbeing and thus, also, ‘mental health’. In this paper we reaffirm the concept of normalcy along the Lacanian psychoanalytic lines of socialization and internalization of projections of virtue and the underlying values adopted by the community. In the process, we distinguish between the constitutive elements of individual normalcy, resilience as an attribute of mental health (and, thus, of normalcy) that is associated with the propositional characteristics of individual normalcy, and institutional and social normalcy as parallel to individual normalcy.

AB - The paper illuminates how civil society organisations in Serbia, in the aftermath of the political changes initiated on 5 October 2000, played the essential role in articulating corruption as a vital public issue, raising awareness of the public, and putting pressure on the then governments to include this issue in the political agenda. Our analysis focuses on two planes of civil society organisations activities: 1) research efforts aimed at properly understanding the phenomenology of corruption as the first step towards sound conceptualisation of various anti-corruption measures, and 2) educational initiatives aimed at transferring knowledge and good practice in anti-corruption methodology and policies from post-industrial societies and other post-communist countries. The timeframe of our analysis embraces the period from 5 October 2000 to December 2005, which we see as the initial phase of engaging civil society organisations in anti-corruption policy in Serbia, before the National Anti-Corruption Strategy was adopted. After the changes in October 2000, civil society organizations in Serbia have acted as a significant factor in raising public awareness of corruption as well as in building anti-corruption institutional and normative infrastructure. From campaigns that targeted all stakeholders (citizens, media, business sector, decision makers) aiming at changing their priorities and interests, to participating in the set-up of public policies in the field of rule of law and monitoring the implementation of anti-corruption laws and strategic commitment, civil society organisations that operated within very wide range of activities, successfully influenced both the institutions and the general public. Despite wide range of activities and modest resources, civil society organisations had an impact on actions of the government, public institutions, and the media. The fight against corruption became one of the central issues in the then Serbia’s political debate. Yet the anti-corruption achievements of Serbian civil society organisations in the period 2000–2005, were limited due to a chronic deficit of political, professional, and moral responsibility of all social actors, resulting in “systemic error” of public policies strategic design aimed at combating corruption – the lack of a participatory political culture. The lack of a participatory political culture in citizen action has limited efficiency in achieving development policy goals, and in implementation and monitoring of public policies relevant to curbing corruption. Belief has been established, that citizens do not ask questions and therefore do not have the power to exercise policy influence nor to shape the environment in which they live. As the concept of political community is a special construct based on democracy and human rights, non-inclusiveness as previously outlined here destructively affected society by making deeper asymmetries of all kinds due to disintegrating influence that prevents the final community constitution through democratic institutions.

AB - The paper focuses on emotional subjectivity (a sense of own identity based on an emotional reception of values), on the one hand, and the constitution of an organic community (one characterized by immediacy, as oppose to a formal community, which is permeated with by institutional relations that mediate the inter-subjective relationships between the community's members.
i pomagačkih profesija, poput psihoterapije. Društvena uloga različitih psihoterapeutskih pravaca, poput psihoanalize, dobro je poznata, dok društveno aktivistički aspekti
filozofske prakse i posebno filozofskog savetovanja ostaju velikim delom nerazlučeni

Trust and ‘Being Moved’ as Forms of Engagement in Situations of Uncertainty

AB - The main aim of this paper is to put emphasis on the role of trust and the emotion of being moved in a situation of crisis. I do not intend to address the general role, or all roles, these emotions might have in a crisis situation. My focus is rather on the role of these emotions in we-formation, presupposing that mutual engagement between the actors is the crucial constituent through which first-person singular shifts to first-person plural. I rely on Bennet Helm’s argument on how trust can function as an invitation to delineate communal norms in the new circumstances of uncertainty. Accordingly, by being trusted by other(s), the addressee is entitled to the expected responsibility for a situation: (1) the addressee is entitled as a member of a group (of us who are responsible in the situation); (2) the addressee is exposed to pressure to respond to a situation with responsibility. In the second part, I adopt Cova’s and Deonna’s argument about the function of the emotion of being moved. I suggest that in such a situation “being moved” expresses the readiness to reorganize one’s hierarchy of values in the light of new circumstances of mutual dependency. Taken together, trust and being moved portray the outline of mutual engagement between the actors in a crisis situation which aims to establish new communal norms and values.

AB - The aim of the paper is to offer an overview of the long-lasting friendship between
Georges Florovsky and St Justin Popović, as well as of their common project to build
an Orthodox theological synthesis on the basis of the patristic tradition. The paper
focuses on three periods from Florovsky’s and Popović’s lives, from late 1910 and to
early 1920, from late 1920s to late 1930s, and finally on 1940s. I argue that in the first
period both authors developed their theological visions relying on Solovyov and
Florensky, on the one hand, and in opposition to the ecclesial nationalism of the
Slavophiles and conservative Orthodox hierarchs, on the other hand. Further, I
investigate how during the late 1920s and 1930s both authors searched for an
Orthodox synthesis mostly in dialogue with their Orthodox predecessors, especially
Solovyov, Florensky and Bulgakov, as well as the modern western philosophical
tradition. The focus will shift then to the 1940s, which was characterized by frequent
meetings between Florovsky and Popović in Belgrade, Yugoslavia. I argue that in this
period the Church Fathers became for both authors the golden standard for Orthodox
theology, and the idea of the neo-patristic synthesis developed in the full scale.
