Changes in values and social change taking place in the last decade of the 20th century bring to the fore the complex problems of identity. It remains unclear what the concept of identity actually means among numerous expressions announcing dilemmas without appropriate solutions. The mutual substitution of identity and identification results in increasingly entangled knots of misunderstandings. That is the reason why there are parallel discourses reflecting different aspects of this intricate problem.
