The paper presents and discusses some of the most recent and influential arguments in favour of the increasingly liberal use of predator drones for military actions short of war. The author finds most of these arguments fairly weak and lacking capacity to address the fundamental ethical aspects of the technological transition of warfare towards the increasing use of predator drones for military assassinations. The paper concludes with the idea that the damage the use of dronesinflicts on the army and its reception in society, as well as to the inherited social structure itself, is so great that the use of drones is not a cultural advancement in warfare, but rather a drastic step back.en
